Ever since I remember I have just loved dogs. It has always been my dream to have some dogs of my own. When I was 10 years old I got my first dog. She was an English Cocker Spaniel, an orange roan. She was called Ginger. Ginger started my interest in this breed of dogs. I would have loved it if Ginger had had some puppies. My parents didn’t want any more dogs though. Unfortunately Ginger didn’t get very old. During the winter of 1996, a few days before her tenth birthday, she died from the effect of a tumor. Of course I missed her loads and I was determined to get an other Cocker Spaniel as soon as I had the chance.

In 2001 I finally bought my own Cocker, Luna. She is a Chocolate bitch. Her pedigree name is Heluna van de Dollardhoeve and she came from the 'van de Dollardhoeve' kennel of Ute Rotgers. Luna would later become the foundation bitch of my own kennel. At the moment I’ve kept a daughter and a granddaughter of Luna at home.

In 2002 I made an application for a name for my kennel at the "Raad van Beheer", The Dutch Kennel Club and I followed the nescessary "KK1" and "KK2" courses. A year later I bred my first litter. It was just as I had imagined, a fabulous experience. I couldn’t wait to breed my second litter! In 2005 this became true. The second litter was there. All of my Cockers are running round free en breeding is more of a hobby for me than anything else. At night they all sleep on the settee, except Luna. She always sleeps at the foot-end of my bed. In short, I consider my Cockers all members of my family!

Because I love to work with dogs I am hoping to make my hobby into my permanent job. That is why I started with the course ‘Dog and Cat Decree’ so later I can start my own dog pension. I also enjoy trimming and grooming Cocker Spaniels. I have a trimming service for which people in Holland can make an appointment. I learned trimming dogs from Rini Campfens. She also used to breed Cockers at her kennel ‘Van de Wilgenstulp’.

I hope you enjoy my website and please leave a message in my guestbook!
